About the Council
The Australia Thailand Business Council (ATBC) is the peak bilateral business organisation for the Australia–Thailand corridor. Established in 1980, the Council has spent more than four decades promoting commercial cooperation between the two countries — connecting businesses, investors, government agencies and industry leaders across both markets.
The Council operates through two principal networks, in Sydney and Bangkok, serving Australian businesses expanding into Thailand and Southeast Asia, and Thai businesses and investors building their presence in Australia.
Four decades of connection
Since the 1980s the Council has played a pivotal role in fostering trade, investment and business collaboration between Australia and Thailand — through trade missions, business events, advocacy and thousands of member introductions. Today the Council is entering a new phase of growth under new leadership, building on those foundations with new initiatives, stronger strategic partnerships and richer opportunities for members.
Who we work with
The Council serves as a trusted focal point for collaboration, working closely with the Australian Government, the Royal Thai Embassy, the Royal Thai Consulate, the Thailand Board of Trade, the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), the Ministry of Commerce, and valued strategic partners.

Members include entrepreneurs and individual professionals, SMEs expanding internationally, corporates operating across both markets, and the advisors, investors and specialists who support them — active in trade and investment, import and export, professional services, technology and innovation, infrastructure and energy, and tourism and hospitality.
